with 1912 check, in superb condition, Ivorine handle smooth brass foot,
strap over tension regulator with Turk head locking nut, nickel silver left
hand thread drum screw, reel in fine condition retaining nearly all the
original black lead finish, very fine reel |

Exceptional rare 3.5/8” 1st model Contracted
alloy “Perfect” with ivorine handle, rod-in-hand trade mark, + Hardy’s
Patent Perfect reel to face., as picture on Page 143 of J. Drewett book
Hardy the Masters the men and there reels, and as first shown and published
in the “Angler” 1896, reel of heavy alloy construction with the distinctive
3 broad alloy pillars with 2 ventilation's to each, we presume for
lightness, this reel also has no ball bearings nickel silver outer wire drum
core and brass foot, and has also been fitted at a later date through Hardy
factory a early stainless steel “U” shaped line guide around the 1900’s I
owned this reel many years ago and as far as I know the only other one is
the one in Drewett book, a rare Hardy item circa 1896 |
