Reels of Brass and or Wood Ebonite

       
BWE-1551 3-1/2" x 2.3/4"  early Victorian all brass  wide drum Salmon winch, dating c 1830, reel having heavy full size check housing on opposite side to handle ,triple brass pillars with flat  brass bar to hold  foot,  foot blade made from sheet brass with perforated edges , and riveted to flat bar bridge with 5 iron pins, the perforated edges of foot were for binding reel to handle of the rod with leather strips or thongs, this is a very large size reel for this era,  and very few of these large old winches turn up,   reel having curved winding arm with original bone handle knob, heavy check clicker from the raised full rear housing, reel in very good condition for age, reel has never been polished, and retains it old aging patina,  scarce collectors reel, circa 1830

BWE-1558 2.1/4" x 1.1/8" "HOGG" makers Edinburgh, all brass Birmingham plate wind fly reel in fine original condition,  foot held on with 2 iron pins to 2  foot bridges  , cigar shaped horn handle , winding plate held with 2  iron screws, with reel retaining its original bronzing to brass, owners initials to back plate , reel circa 1850

BWE-1559 3.3/4 x 1.3/4 wide  F.T.Williams & Co  of 10 Great Queens St, Lincolns Inn Fields , this address copper plate engraved and filled with red , this very rare 3.3/4" Ebonite crank has nickel silver bound rims, brass spool and foot, with brass crank arm with horn handle, held with a single iron screw, brass pillars with constant check,  Ebonite Crank wind reel, this is a very rare FT Williams reel , very few seen in ebonite, condition of reel very fine considering age, ebonite not cracked, and reel dating around 1870's   £480
